I hate the World Cup. I have no interest in soccer. I don't get angry when people like curling, or synchronized swimming, or any other nonsense. I do however get angry when people like the World Cup. I suppose it's because I can't shake this feeling that half the people in this country who claim to like World Cup soccer are just jumping on the bandwagon and are not sincere. Whenever the World Cup rolls around, I practice my eye rolls for weeks ahead.

The other day there was this "amazing" goal by Tim Cahill for Australia as they battled the Netherlands. I watched it ten times and I still can't figure out how this was such an adrenaline rush. Because the ball was in air when he kicked it? Yeah? And? Anyway, check out the video for yourself. I've seen more athleticism in football, hockey, basketball, even baseball which is generally considered a slow sport.
