The radio industry is not an easy one to get into by any means. That's why whenever a local school stops by the New Jersey 101.5 studio for a visit, we get really excited about it.

Mercer County Community College students joined Dennis & Judi today for a chance to go behind the scenes and see how New Jersey's most-listened-to station goes about daily business. Students were able to hop on the air and talk with Dennis & Judi about their ambitions and goals, as well as weigh in on the current topic.

Seeing all of the students and professor Mitch Canter stop by was very surreal because I attended MCCC and took this exact trip about four years ago. It was on that visit that things clicked for me, and I knew that New Jersey 101.5 was where I wanted to be.

In the time since that visit, I have worked my way up from being an intern in 2013, to promotions assistant in 2014, to my current job as the multimedia producer of the Dennis & Judi show. If I had to give any advice to current students trying to make it in the radio industry, it would be to network with everyone you meet, never sell yourself short on your goals, stay hungry and give 110 percent everyday.

I am blessed to be working at New Jersey 101.5, and couldn't thank Mitch Canter and Mercer County Community College enough for helping me get on the right track towards my dream.
