Sixty-two-year-old David Giordano initially was charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault after the June 6 stabbing at a Voorhees condominium complex. He had been free on bail, but he turned himself in to Voorhees police Tuesday after Camden County prosecutors filed the upgraded charge.

County Prosecutor Warren Faulk says the victim, 52-year-old Michael Taylor, lived one floor below Giordano. The stabbing occurred after Giordano allegedly dumped water onto some pet birds Taylor kept on his porch.

Taylor confronted Giordano, who allegedly stabbed him multiple times. He was taken to a hospital, where he died Sunday night.
