The race to succeed Governor Christie is well under way. This morning I was joined by Senator Ray Lesniak who has thrown his hat in the ring on the Democratic side.

Ray has been a regular highest on the show as unlike most Democrats in the legislature who default to talking points and tow the party line, he's broken out from the pack. Ray was a vocal opponent of the $.23 gas tax, a solid #NoOnTwo advocate and a leading voice helping kill the corrupt Christie book deal.

What stood out in this morning's conversation is that he was willing to discuss how the public unions and the government have to enter discussion on making the pension and health benefits more affordable and sustainable. He's the first Democrat to enter the race to admit that these conversations are critical if we're going to save New Jersey.
