American workers are a tired bunch — What you nap at work?
Do you often feel tired at work? If your employer offered naptime, would you take it?
A recent survey by Accountemps found that 70 percent of workers admit being tired on the job, with 31 percent who said they are tired "very often" at work and 43 percent who said they are "somewhat often" tired at work.
What happens when you work while tired? According to the survey, tired workers costs companies $63 billion a year in lost productivity. And working tired impacts most workers in a big way. When Accountemps asked workers how working tired affects them, here's what they said:
- 52 percent said they can't focus
- 47 percent said they procrastinate more
- 38 percent said being tired puts them in a grumpy mood
- 29 percent report making more mistakes
- 16 percent said being tired doesn't affect them while on the job
To deal with tired workers, some companies have created nap rooms. According to the survey, 55 percent of workers said they would use a nap room if their companies had one. Would you?
