The family of Alexian Lien, the driver of the SUV in Sunday's motorcycle chase in New York has issued a statement offering sympathy to the severely injured motorcycle rider that explains their actions on the West Side Highway while the wife of the man says she expects the Liens to pay for her husband's care.

Bikers rallied outside a New York City hospital in support of a cyclist who was severely injured in Sunday's chase of an SUV on the West Side Highway.

Following that bizarre and scary incident in New York where several motorcycles swarmed around an SUV, and the driver was pulled out and beaten, charges of reckless driving and unlawful imprisonment have been filed against a biker from Passaic.

A motorcyclist was charged Wednesday with reckless driving after prosecutors said he touched off a tense encounter with the driver of an SUV and a throng of other bikers that ended with blood and broken bones on a Manhattan street.
