The Maurice River Historical Society has maintained the East Point lighthouse located at the mouth of the Maurice River on Delaware Bay for the past 50 year but could not reach an agreement with the DEP forcing them to move out.

In 2018 and 2019, federal authorities alleged that Darick Nollett arranged for other individuals to buy five firearms for him.

A group of six or seven teenage boys are seen in silent video taken by a live streaming webcam approaching the nest located near the East Point Lighthouse. One of the boys tosses an empty pack of cigarettes into the nest and then laughs about it.
