Boondoggle. Yup, it's a word and it seems to be a recurring event throughout New Jersey. Here's the definition from Merriam Webster - "a wasteful or impractical project or activity often involving graft."

Remember the statement Governor Christie made to the press in the State House Rotunda about how it was nearly a matter of life and death that we fix the State House? Remember that the renovations to ensure the safety of the government workers? First quote was $38 million...that never happened.

State Renovation 2.0 is now estimated at $300 million. Wait, what?!? How did that happen? Something isn't right and some lawmakers are rising to the occasion to fight for us.

It's hard to wrap your head around a Governor willing to spend $300 million of your dollars while our government can't seem to fund its promised pensions, can't provide enough recovery beds in the midst of a growing heroin epidemic despite having among the highest taxes in the nation. One man of courage is Senator Ray Lesniak who has called the government out on this behind-the-scenes deal. He's asked for public hearings, accountability and if necessary bring the administration to court.
