New Jersey is facing a mixed bag of wintry, wet and windy Wednesday night and early Thursday.

A winter weather advisory is in effect from 10 p.m. until 4 a.m. Thursday for Sussex and Warren counties.

Forecasters say rain is expected to change to snow overnight and accumulations of 2 to 4 inches of snow are possible.

A flood watch is in effect for the western half of the state. Forecasters say as much as 3 inches of rain could lead to small stream flooding. By 5 p.m. Wednesday., some areas had received an inch of rain.

Meanwhile, coastal New Jersey faces a blustery night that could threaten trees and power lines. A wind advisory is in effect for northwest winds with gusts to near 50 mph.
