The efforts of a group of Rutgers students frantically trying to find a missing dog that was being trained to become a veteran's service animal have been successful.

Members of the Companion Animal Club at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, posted on the group's Facebook page Monday night that Moe, who ran off after being spooked by fireworks on New Year's Eve had been located.

"Thank you everyone for sharing. It was spreading the word about him missing that helped us tracking down," the group wrote. They did not provide any details.

Before that, ge had last been seen around Richardson and Huntington streets near the College Avenue Campus just after midnight Sunday morning.

According to a post on the group's Facebook page, Moe was wearing his collar, which has a service dog in training tag on it. He does not have a microchip.

Moe was being trained to serve a veteran with post traumatic stress disorder, according to a CBS New York report.

"Let everyone know that if they see him please don't chase as he is scared," the Facebook post says.
