The Republican presidential nominee tells the Des Moines Register on Tuesday that, quote, "There's no legislation with regards to abortion that I'm familiar with that would become part of my agenda."

Romney says he will instead use an executive order to reinstate the so-called Mexico City policy banning American foreign aid from funding abortions.

President Barack Obama's campaign says the Republican challenger is not telling the truth about his position. Obama campaign officials cite a remark from a 2007 GOP debate that he would "be delighted" to sign a bill banning all abortions.

The Romney campaign did not immediately return a request for comment.
