Commuters who take the PATH train to New York City will face some changes in service Monday as authorities continue to investigate an explosion that occurred Saturday night, injuring 26 people.

PATH trains on the 33rd Street line will bypass the 23rd street station due to the ongoing investigation. The bypass will continue "until further notice," the Port Authority said in a statement Sunday. Trains will continue to make normal stops at the Christopher, 9th, 14th and 33rd Street stations.

The Port Authority has been imposing weekend suspensions to PATH service on the 33rd Street line due to federally-mandated construction work that involves the installation of a new signal system.

During the suspensions, shuttle buses were used to accommodate passengers.Saturday's explosion happened on West 23rd Street, in front of a residence for the blind, near a major thoroughfare at about 8:30 p.m. Witnesses said the blast blew out the windows of businesses and scattered debris in the area. Officials said no evacuations were necessary.

Authorities found a second device a few blocks from the scene that appeared to be a pressure cooker attached to wiring and a cellphone, police said.The New York explosion came just hours after another explosion in a trash can that preceded a charity 5K race in Seaside Park Saturday. No injuries were reported as a result of that blast.
