No more parking on your lawn if you live in Palmyra.

The borough council on Wednesday adopted an ordinance banning the practice and establishing fines of up to $1,000 for scofflaws. Mayor Karen Scheffler tells the Burlington County Times that the main reason is aesthetics.

Officials in the Burlington County town have had several recent complaints about neighbors keeping their cars on their grass.

While the ordinance takes effect immediately, enforcement won't begin until June 1. Officials say that will give people time to repair their driveways.
