The afternoon commute on Route 78 is going to be a long one with an overturned dump truck blocking a lane.

The overturn on the westbound side created a mult-mile delay west of  Exit 11 for Pattenburg Road in Bethlehem and spilled a load of top soil on the roadway, according to State Police spokesman Sgt. Jeff Flynn.

New Jersey Traffic North's Bob Williams said "it's the busiest time of day for traveling in that direction but fortunately there's an easy way around it."

Exiting at 11 for Route 173 — aka Old Route 22 — will get you around the delay through Jugtown Mountain and back onto Route 78 at Exit 7.
