NJ Residents Share New Year’s Resolutions [POLL/AUDIO]

Just three days until we ring in the New Year, and New Jersey residents have a lot of changes they would like to see in 2013.

New Jersey is a high priced, high taxed state, so lowering property taxes is at the forefront of most residents wish lists next year.

"Lowering property taxes, of course, but I'm not even going to think about that because I know its not going to happen," said Ruth from Toms River.

Some would like to see the state create more jobs.

"People need to work to feed their families, we need good paying jobs in this state again," said Michael from Barnegat.

"I need a job, I'm not working right now," said another man.  Others say its simply time to be a little nicer to one another.

"I think the state needs to focus on those less fortunate, not those just hurt after Superstorm Sandy, those that are hurting throughout the entire year," said Bill from Island Heights.

"I would like to see people have a little more compassion for each other, there are a lot of people out there struggling after the storm," said another man.

"We could all be a little kinder to each other, I think that goes a long way," said Mary from Brick.

2012 was a rough year for the state. We faced the worst storm in New Jersey's history. A majority of residents said they would like to see the state recover and rebound in the new year.

"I just want the Jersey shore to get back to where it was," said one woman.

"We need everything back, Seaside Heights, the rides, its very important," said Carol from Manchester.

"Rebuild the shore, that's what we have to do right away, we need the boardwalk back by the summer," said Tracey from Ocean Grove.

"New Jerseyens deserve a break, we have been through enough," said another woman.
