NJ PUMPKIN PICKING IN CENTRAL JERSEY

Agros Farm

Pumpkin picking season starts at Agros Farm in Lacey Sept. 22 and runs until October 28. The farm is open Wednesday's through Fridays from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and on weekends from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Columbus Day Oct. 8 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Pumpkins are sold for 55 cents per pound.

General admission gives you access to the corn maze, hayride, pig races, a big hay slide, duck races and the farm animals. Kids 2 years or younger are admitted free. General admission is $10 per person for those 3 to 65 years old and families of 5 people or more get a $5 off their total admission. Parking is free. Pony rides are an extra $5 per person.

Atlantic Farms

Pumpkin picking season starts Sept. 29 at Atlantic Farms where you can pick your own pumpkins from the patch for 79 cents a pound.

Hayrides cost $3 per person (children under 1 year are free) and run continually weekdays starting at 9 a.m. and on weekends at 11 a.m. and stop at 5 p.m.

Atlantic Farms accepts Visa and MasterCard but cash is preferred.

A trip around the petting zoo costs $2 a person and there are sheep, goats, llamas, cows, donkeys and miniature horses.  Bags of carrots, corn are available for purchase for anyone who wants to feed the farm animals from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

The farm also has a 5-acre corn maze that visitors can tour for $2 and a farm market on site stocked with fresh produce.

Battleview Orchards

Pumpkin picking season at Battleview Orchards runs from Sept. 22 to October 31st and hayrides are available weekends only beginning Sept. 22. Pumpkins are sold by the pound but the prices haven't been determined yet.

Only cash is accepted outside at the pumpkin patch.

The Country Store is open all year round, daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. offering fresh-pressed cider and apple cider donuts to customers.

Conte Farm

Pumpkin picking season has begun at Conte Farm and runs until late October and visitors can pick pumpkins Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Pumpkins are sold by the pound but prices haven't been determined yet.

A wagon ride to the pumpkin patch costs $2 per adult and kids under 12 ride free. The last wagon ride goes out at 5 p.m.

The farm accepts cash, Visa and MasterCard.

Saturdays and Sundays the patch is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and weekdays the farm is open from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Hayrides cost $2 a person and a corm maze costs $5 per adult and $2.50 for kids. A kiddie straw maze is free and the corn kernel swimming pool (Similar to a ball pit) is free for kids as well.

The farm accepts cash, Visa, MasterCard and Discover.

Eastmont Orchards

The orchard accepts cash and checks only.

Giamarese Farm

Pumpkin picking season starts at Giamarese Farm now and runs right up until Halloween Day. In October the farm is open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Pumpkins are sold by the pound for 64 cents per pound.

Educational hayrides run non-stop and give a tour of the farm, the ride is about a mile long and takes you past the farm animals. Hayrides cost $4 per person.  The farm also has a corn maze for $4 and pony rides that cost $5.

The farm accepts debit and credit cards in addition to cash at the pumpkin patch.

Indian Acres Tree Farm

Pumpkin picking season begins at Indian Acres Tree Farm Sept. 15 and runs until October 28. The farm is open weekends in September from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and weekdays starting in October.

Pumpkins are sold by size with prices ranging from $1.50 for extra small ones to $20-$25 for gigantic ones.

The farm accepts cash, Visa, MasterCard and Discover.

Wagon rides are offered for $3.25 per person and other attractions are available for kids like pony rides for $5, a pumpkin-shaped bounce house $3.25, a rock-climbing wall, a playground area and face painting.

Johnson's Corner Farm

Weekends the farm has a moon bounce house and corn maze open for $3.50.

Tickets to the Animal Farm cost $7 for kids and $3.50 for adults and includes a bag of animal feed so that kids can pet and feed cows, chicken, sheep or goats.

Terhune Orchards

Pumpkin picking season has already started at Terhune Orchards and runs until the end of October. The farm is open from Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Pumpkins weighing less than 5 pounds are $3.95 and pumpkins weighing more than 5 pounds cost 79 cents per pound.

Admission to the farm's Fall Family Fun Festival on weekends costs $5 for people over 3 years old and includes free pumpkin painting, live music, access to the corn maze, a hay bale maze and wagon rides.

The farm also has barnyard animals like sheep and goats, horses and chickens and offers pony rides or pedal tractor rides for kids.

Von Thun Farms

Pumpkin picking starts Sept. 22, at Von Thun Farms and runs until Halloween. Visitors can go pumpkin picking seven days a week, but the hayrides and other activities are on weekends only.

Pumpkin is sold for 65 cents a pound and the farm accepts cash, checks, debit and credit cards and there is an ATM machine on the grounds for your convenience.

The farm is open weekends from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and weekdays 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

On weekends, visitors can pay one General Admission price for unlimited access to hayrides, access to the 6-acre corn maze, farm animals, moon bounce, pumpkin bowling, corn hole and the Singing Chicken Show. General admission costs $10.95 per person but children 36 inches and under are free. On October 6-7 admission is $13.95 due to Von Thun Farm's Fall Festival.

For an additional price, there is a Pumpkin Blaster, $3 for 3 pumpkins, a Corn Cannon $3 for 9 ears of corn, pony rides for $5 each and face painting for $3.

Wemrock Orchards

Pumpkins are sold by the pound (prices aren't determined yet) at Wemrock Orchards and the season starts Sept. 28 and runs until October 28 on weekends only. The pumpkin patch is open weekends only from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Columbus Day.

Cash is the only form of payment accepted at the pumpkin patch.

Not-so-scary hayrides through the "Haunted Orchard" are available and last about 15 minutes, with visitors getting an apple and Halloween treat and cost $4 per person for the 2012 season soon.

Also visitors can explore a 5-acre corn maze "challenge" for $4  or corn maze-hayride combo tickets cost $7.

Refreshments like hot apple cider and hot dogs are available as well.

Westhaven Farm, Inc.

Pumpkin picking season at Westhaven Farm starts Sept. 29, and runs until Halloween day.  The patch is open to the public on weekends from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

A 45-minute scenic, musical hayride geared toward kids ages 2 to 10 years old costs $5 for kids and $6 for adults but a pumpkin is included.

A corn maze about half-mile long is $5 for kids and $6 for adults.

Combo tickets are sold for $8 for kids and $7 for adults and includes the hayride, access to the corn maze, a look at the farm animals and access to the "Straw jump" sandbox.  On Friday and Saturday nights, a larger flashlight corn maze is open to adults (takes 1-2 hours to complete) and includes apple cider and a doughnut upon completion.

Hayrides to the pumpkin patch cost $5 per person, but toddlers are admitted free. There is no charge for the farm animal petting zoo, featuring a cow and some goats but coin operated vending machines are  on site full of animal feed.

For adults, there is the full vineyard and wine tasting room to enjoy five free wine samples.

Access to the Kiddie Corral costs $2 per child and kids can enjoy a hay bale maze, a treasure hunt for "Pennies in the Hay" and pumpkin decorating.

For adults, the farm hosts a fundraiser called AutumnBash and Bonfire Friday, Oct. 5 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. with a live band. Tickets are $15 each and must be purchased in advance and benefit Officer Down, NJ Inc.

On Saturdays, the farm opens at 10 a.m. and closes at 7 p.m. Tickets are not sold after 7 p.m. but the grounds will remain open as long as needed for guests to complete all activities. Flashlights can be rented for $2 after sundown.

Pumpkins are priced by diameter. They run from $2 for a six-inch pumpkin to $10 for a 12+ inch pumpkin. The farm accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover and cash. Parking is free.

The farm also features a ten-acre corn maze. This year's corn maze shape is in the image of an F-16C fighter jet flying over the Garden State with the 177th Fighter Wing's Jersey Devils logo at the bottom corner. Pony rides are available for $3 each on Saturdays in October and on Columbus Day.

Admission to the farm is $9 per person, family and group rates are also available. Admission includes unlimited access to all mazes, hay rides, pig races and Kiddie Koral Activities.

Pumpkin picking season has started at Norz Hill Farm and the farm is open weekends from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. After Columbus Day the Halloween hours are extended to weekdays from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Pumpkins cost 61 cents per pound and cash, checks and Visa or MasterCard are all accepted.

Hayrides out to the pumpkin patch cost $3 per person. A corn maze costs $6 for adults and $3 for kids 5 and under. Pony rides are available for $5 per ride or you can buy four rides for $15.

Extended hayrides "Out to the farm" let riders see the farm animals in addition to stopping at the pumpkin patch. That costs $6 for adults and $3 for kids 5 and under.

Norz also offers spookier Creepy Hollow nighttime activities for thrill-seekers.The haunted corn trails Atrum Farm and Paranoia cost $13 per person and are not recommended for children. A tamer Family Time Flashlight Maze is offered for $6.
