Assemblyman Dimaio has stepped up to uncover something that was missing from the gas tax debate.  Many of us had no idea that the millions collected in motor vehicle related fines and fees were redirected to the state's general fund. Dimaio's plan is to force the state government to dedicate the money to fix the roads and bridges. Can you imagine if we actually spent transportation related revenue in transportation projects? This would be without borrowing and without raising taxes.

Assemblyman DiMaio called in this morning to explain how he came up with the idea, as well as how if the state dedicated the surplus of funds that are collected from the MVC, it can possibly help put a stop to seeing another increase in the gas tax.

How about passing this bill and discussing how to #RepealTheGasTax?
