We're continuing our effort to recognize and honor members of New Jersey Law Enforcement by bringing #BlueFriday into the new year. Today I was joined in studio by the General Manager of the Ray Catena Auto Group, Jim Buchanon.

He explained that as a NJ based business with approximately 1,500 employees many of his colleagues have friends and family currently serving in or retired from Law Enforcement. The Ray Catena Auto Group is a proud sponsor of the 2017 #BlueFriday honorees.

At the end of the year our listeners will pick the most compelling law enforcement honoree to receive a $5,000 charitable contribution in their name to the charity of their choice. Our first honoree for the year will be next Friday January 13th.

If you'd like to nominate someone please tweet at me @billspadea use the hashtag #BlueFriday and we'll get them into consideration. Today I highlighted some of the stories of courage and compassion from 2016. Please check out #BlueFriday in the search bar on this site and let me know what you think.

Thanks to all the brave heroes that get up every day in the garden state to form the blue line that defines the difference between civilization and savagery. We continue to stand up for the men and women that serve our communities as members of New Jersey law enforcement.
