A forensic dentist has testified that he identified a skull found in a creek as the remains of a 5-year-old boy who prosecutors say was killed by his mother nearly 25 years ago.

NJ.com reports that Dr. Jay Kartagener matched four teeth from Timothy Wiltsey's upper jaw to a report from his dentist.

Timothy's mother, Michelle Lodzinski, is on trial facing charges that she killed him.

Lodzinski's lawyer said Wednesday that she was a loving mother and that no one has ever found evidence linking her to Timothy's death.

Lodzinski was arrested in 2014 in Florida. She had long been a suspect in Timothy's disappearance.

She has said he vanished while they were at a carnival in Sayreville, New Jersey, in 1991. She later said Timothy was kidnapped.
