A $3.2 million resurfacing improvement project for Commonwealth Avenue in Strathmere is expected to begin during the week of March 14th. The road work will run from the Sea Isle City border northward to Corson's Inlet Bridge.

The plan calls for the roadway to be resurfaced, drainage to be improved, shoulders will be rebuilt, curbs and sidewalks will be replaced, and crosswalks will be better identified.

Construction is set to run from mid-March through mid-June and again from mid-September through the end of the year. Drivers are already being cautioned to expect delays. especially between 7AM and 3:30PM weekdays. No weekend work is anticipated unless inclement weather becomes an issue with the project.

Commonwealth Avenue from the Sea Isle City border to at least Prescott Avenue should be done before the summer season kicks into full gear in June.
