Chip Off the Old Beatle – Dhani Harrison Fills the Gap with Dad’s Music

Would you like to follow in your father’s footsteps? What if your father was George Harrison? Or Billy Joel? Soon you’ll be seeing Dhani Harrison and Alexa Ray Joel playing and singing their father’s music on the new GAP commercials.

The fall campaign is dubbed “Back to Blue” and it features Harrison whose band ‘thenewno2” has been active since 2006. Harrison is also a member of “Fistful of Mercy” with Ben Harper ad Joseph Arthur. You may remember him playing with all those legends in “The Concert For George” which took place one year after the former Beatles death.

His look and voice bears an uncanny resemblance to his father when he performs the Beatle classic ”For You Blue.”  Alexa Ray Joel performs her own version of her father's classic song, “Just The Way You Are.”

All proceeds from Harrison’s song will be donated to George Harrison’s “Material World” Foundation in support of their current goal of raising funds for the Christopher and Dana Reeves' efforts to cure spinal cord injuries.
