This morning we discussed the drug addiction issue in New Jersey and one of our listeners, Steve from New Egypt made the perfect point, regarding police officers giving out Narcan to save drug addicts.

Steve, who said that he himself has been sober and drug-free for 31 years, discussed how his family get through the disease of drug addiction.

Steve disagrees with the program because it doesn't make the person accountable for their actions. You can't give out the drug to save the life without a follow up program. The system NJ currently is flawed. Steve made the explanation to the program, calling Narcan "state-sanctioned enabling."
