1) Perrineville

The community of Perrineville offers a quiet, rural place for would-be Millstone Township residents to call home. The township is best known for Perrineville Lake Park, a county park known for its excellent fishing, canoeing/kayaking, hiking, and other outdoor activities. It’s also considered one of the best parks in Millstone Township.

While Perrineville doesn't have a traditional downtown, it's home to some of the area's top restaurants. It’s also the location of many government facilities, including the court clerk and first aid squad. In addition, the township is close to the Millstone Township Performing Arts Center, providing cultural and entertainment options just minutes from residents' front doors.

The majority of Perrineville's housing stock is single-family detached homes. These homes are typically four or more bedrooms and 2,000-5,000 square feet of living space. Most homes feature large, secluded lots that highlight the area's rural character, and many are two acres or more. Buyers can find a variety of homes, though they usually include luxury interior finishes and features like oversized garages. Prices start in the $700s and $800s but can reach the $2–3 million range on the high end.

2) Clarksburg

Clarksburg occupies a large portion of the eastern edge of Millstone Township, stretching from the Smithburg area south of Interstate 195. This latter road makes east-west travel anywhere between Trenton and top shore destinations like the city of Asbury Park and the borough of Manasquan simple and fast. Those staying close to home can enjoy the 450-acre Clayton Park, which includes hiking, biking, and horseback riding trails through preserved historic farmland and woods. It's also a convenient spot for kids, thanks to the proximity to the town's schools.

Like much of the rest of the area, larger detached single-family homes—of variety in styles and ages—provide the entirety of the housing stock. The community's most modest homes include three bedrooms and around 2,000 square feet of living space. These typically sell in the $600,000–700,000 range—Clarksburg's most expansive luxury homes can exceed $1.25 million, offering five bedrooms and nearly 5,000 square feet. Almost all of the area's homes are set on large lots of two to four acres or more, providing plenty of space for swimming pools, outdoor entertainment areas, animal housing, and more.

3) Smithburg

Smithburg sits at the northeastern corner of Millstone Township, comprising the area around Smithburg Road and Monmouth Road. Of Millstone Township communities, Smithburg residents have the most access to the many amenities of nearby Freehold Township, including the extensive shopping and dining options along State Route 33.

The community is just minutes from Turkey Swamp Park, which offers fishing, boating, hiking, camping, and an archery range. Golfers will also enjoy living close to Charleston Springs Golf Course, a top public course in the area that offers two affordable, gorgeous 18-hole par-72 courses. Metedeconk National Golf Club is also close by.

Homes in Smithburg are single-family detached properties that vary from recently built to post-World War II or earlier. Older or more modestly sized homes, many of which are one-story or ranch-style, can be found for around half a million dollars. Newer properties tend to be larger two-story layouts, with four- to six-bedrooms and upwards of 4,000 square feet of living space. These typically sell from the mid-$800s to nearly $1.5 million. Almost all Smithburg properties are on spacious lots of two to four acres or more.

4) Roosevelt

The borough of Roosevelt roots back to Great Depression America as a unique cooperative with nearby agriculture, manufacturing, and services all working collaboratively. While this co-op eventually failed, the town retained its charm and character in recent decades, earning a spot on the National Register of Historic Places. Today, this tiny community is home to less than 1,000 residents, allowing homeowners plenty of opportunities to get to know their neighbors.

While it's primarily residential, there are numerous outdoor activities, from trails like the Roosevelt Woodland Trail to Rising Sun and Assunpink Lakes. Residents are also just minutes from the New Jersey Turnpike, which makes it easy to travel from New York to Philadelphia and beyond.

Homes in Roosevelt are broadly similar to most other parts of the area, primarily single-family homes on medium- to large-sized lots. But unlike some other Millstone Township communities, prices can vary more widely, starting in the low $200s but topping out in the $1–1.5 million range. These three- to five-bedroom properties range from around 1,500 square feet to more than double that.

In addition, the community is convenient to one of the region's top attractions: the Six Flags Great Adventure amusement park and Hurricane Harbor water park.

Meanwhile, Holmeson provides immediate access to Interstate 195, ensuring easy travel across the central New Jersey region. Monmouth Road, another major community thoroughfare, offers quick, direct access to the Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst to the south in Burlington County.

Homes start in the low $500s for three- to five-bedroom options with 1,500–2,000 square feet of living space.
