Friend with the ex — Yes or no?

Is it possible to be friends with an ex? How do you go from being in love to supporting any new relationship they may find after you?

Match.com released a survey in February 2016 that polled more than 5,000 singles on their attitudes about exes. According to the survey, half of men and 42 percent of women will remain friends with an ex.

And while men are more likely to maintain a friendship after the intimate relationship has ended, women are more likely to use social media to find out what their ex has been doing since the end of the relationship. According to the survey, 32 percent of women have "creeped" on an ex through social media sites like Facebook. Only 20 percent of men admit to doing the same.

For some, maintaining a friendship with an ex could have an ulterior motive and so you might need to ask yourself why you want to stay friends in the first place. A post from Pscyhologytoday.com lists some of the worst reasons for remaining friends with your ex. Do you recognize any?
