The U.S. attorney's office in Newark says Gregg Mark prepared the returns for 2010 and 2011 when the brothers earned several million dollars from Sorrentino's participation on the MTV reality show "Jersey Shore."

The 51-year-old Mark, of Spotswood, admitted Wednesday that he filed bogus returns that defrauded the government out of between $550,000 and $1.5 million. He faces up to five years in prison when he's sentenced in March.

The Sorrentinos were charged this year with filing false tax returns and conspiring to defraud the United States. They allegedly failed to report income and claimed personal expenses as business expenses.

They have pleaded not guilty. A trial date hasn't been set.
