5 NJ college students charged in dormitory sex assault
WAYNE, N.J. (AP) — Five students at New Jersey's William Paterson University face charges stemming from the alleged sexual assault of a female student in a dorm.
University President Kathleen Waldron told students and faculty in a statement that the attack occurred Tuesday on the Wayne campus and the men have been barred from campus.
The Record newspaper reports the five are all 18 years old and are held on $200,000 bail each.
A university spokesman tells the newspaper the suspects are Jahmel Latimer of Hoboken, Darius Singleton of Jersey City, Garret Collick of Paterson, Noah Williams of Camden and Tremaine Scott of Vineland.
It's not clear if they have lawyers.
The university president says her deepest concern is for the woman and her heart goes out to the student and her family.
