Marco Rubio is increasingly portraying immigration as a national security issue rather than a question of what to do with millions of people in the country illegally, a sign of his evolving stance on a topic that remains one of his liabilities with conservative voters.
He's telling them they can trust him because his poll numbers are horrible in New Jersey based mostly on how voters feel about Christie spending a lot of time away from the Garden State.
Christie says 13 years of governing experience will help him keep America safe. "You can't do on-the-job training with the presidency," he said, referring to his less-experienced GOP rivals, Trump, Cruz and Rubio.
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie called on state voters to support Ovide LaMontagne in next month's gubernatorial election, and the New Hampshire GOP candidate fired up the crowd by saying that the states doing the best right now are those being led by Republican governors.
