NJ101.5 has partnered with local animal rescue organizations EASEL Animal Rescue League, Sammy’s Hope and Jersey Girls Animal Rescue to feature adoptable local pets in need of homes.

Help us find these pets homes by sharing this information with family members and friends who may be interested in adopting a shelter pet.

Adopt Radar

Radar is an American Staffordshire Terrier mix with the best ears and biggest smile we have ever seen! Radar was picked up as a stray, but knows several commands so we are sure he was someone's loved dog once. Radar takes treats gently, and has been very polite on walks with the other dogs at the shelter. He loves rolling in the grass, getting belly rubs, and having those fantastic ears scratched.

If you are interested in meeting Radar or fostering/adopting him, please email us at info@sammyshope.org. You can download a PDF copy of the application form here or you can see more adoptable dogs from Sammy’s Hope here.

Adopt King

King came to the Ewing Animal Shelter happy and carefree, but got a little shy in his run. He is not used to being in a shelter.  King has since adjusted and is friendly, but cautious. He is a calm dog who is very curious of new dogs and surroundings. He is very intelligent and picks up on cues quickly when food motivated. He loves to be pet, especially on his left side. King is truly a sweetheart and has been good when approached properly and slowly by strangers and children.

To schedule a visit with King or for more information, email dogs@easelnj.org. Find more of EASEL’s adoptable dogs and puppies here, or download a PDF copy of the application form here.

Adopt Luka

Luka is a 7-year-old brown tabby with amazing green eyes. He is a total love bug, enjoying nothing more than curling up in someone's lap for petting and cuddles. He was turned into the Edison Animal Shelter when his elderly owner could no longer care for him. Luka was eventually adopted, but when he was diagnosed with diabetes, his adopter made an appointment to have him euthanized.  But the vet called Sammy's Hope after seeing what a great boy, and otherwise healthy cat Luka is, and arrangements were made to return him back to the shelter.  Currently we are working with our vet to get his insulin regulated, but the shelter is no place to ensure Luka's well-being.  He really needs a foster or forever home so he can get the care and love he so desperately needs and deserves. Luka is front declawed and up-to-date on his vaccinations.

If you are interested in meeting Luka or fostering/adopting him, please email us at cats@sammyshope.org. You can download a PDF copy of the adoption application form here or you can see more adoptable cats from Sammy’s Hope here.

Honey is a 1-year-old mixed breed, possibly Jack Russell Terrier and Beagle. She is playful and sweet. She is housebroken, gets along well with other dogs, and is extremely well behaved. She likes to snuggle, play ball, and loves to be loved. She will make a great companion for any family or individual.  Honey loves to go for rides in the car and behaves like a perfect lady. She met many people at a street fair recently and was a model dog. She also walks well on a leash.
