Adopt Cassandra

Cassandra was rescued from an abusive home, but after the staff and volunteers at the Edison Municipal Animal Shelter made her feel safe and secure by giving her the love and comfort she deserved, it didn't take her long to learn to trust humans again.

Cassandra, a beautiful tiger cat with enchanting emerald eyes, is simply adored by the staff and volunteers. She likes to play with catnip mice and enjoys being petted. She would do best in a home with adults and children over 13. She is spayed, up-to-date on her vaccinations and FIV/FeLV negative. Cassandra is ready for her forever home and a family who will shower her with love.

If you're interested in meeting Cassandra or adopting her, please email us at EAS@edisonnj.org or call us at 732-248-7278. You can see more adoptable cats from Friends of EMAS here or download a PDF copy of the application form here.

Adopt Mr. Wiggles

Mr. Wiggles was surrendered to the Ewing Animal Shelter by someone who took him from a breeder who wasn’t able to care for him. Mr. Wiggles, a Pit Bull and Mastiff mix, is about 3 to 4 years old. He’s very laid back, quiet, affectionate and friendly. He’s very calm and isn’t affected by much, including other dogs. He truly has an exceptional temperament and would make a great companion. He’s happy to do whatever you ask of him and he’s very content to just go with the flow. Mr. Wiggles has quickly become a favorite at the shelter thanks to his awesome personality.

If you’re interested in learning more about Mr. Wiggles or to schedule a visit, email dogs@easelnj.org or call 609-883-0540. Find more of EASEL’s adoptable dogs and puppies here or download a PDF copy of the application form here.

Adopt Bambi

Come to the Edison Municipal Animal Shelter and meet Bambi the Chihuahua! She weighs about 9.5 pounds and is between 2 to 3 years old. She is a shy dog looking for a safe and calm place to call home. She is a dainty, fragile sweetheart who looks just like a baby deer.

Bambi can take some time to warm up to new people so she needs to be approached slowly and let her come to you. She does not like sudden movements because she gets scared. Once she trusts you, this little princess will fall in love with you. In fact, she has a few special people at the shelter that she absolutely adores. She likes to cozy up and snuggle with them.

Bambi is a sight to see on her leash. She prances so elegantly, like a show dog in a parade! She would do best with adults in a quiet home. This breed, in general, does not do well with children. They are sensitive to cold weather, so she will need to wear a coat outdoors in the winter. Before inquiring about Bambi, please read some information here about the Chihuahua breed.

If you are interested in adopting Bambi or fostering/adopting her, please email us at EAS@edisonnj.org or call 732-248-7278. You can see more adoptable dogs from Friends of EMAS here or download a PDF copy of the application form here.

Huey was found wondering the streets in Ewing when he was luckily found and brought into the Ewing Animal Shelter. He is about 4 years old, neutered and up-to-date on shots. This handsome black and white fellow is cautious when he first meets a person, but quickly warms up once he knows they're friendly. He loves cat treats and being scratched. He responds with a deep, masculine purr as he rubs against you. He's an active and very affectionate cat who would make an excellent companion.

To schedule a visit to meet Huey, please email kitty@easelnj.org or call 609-883-0540. The Easel trailer and Ewing Animal Shelter are located at 2 Jake Garzio Drive in Ewing. Easel's cat and kitten trailer is open for adoptions Saturday and Sunday 11 a.m to 3 p.m. and Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. You can find more of EASEL’s adoptable cats and kittens here, or download a PDF copy of the application form here.
