NJ101.5 has partnered with local animal rescue organizations EASEL Animal Rescue League and Friends of EMAS (Edison Municipal Animal Shelter) to feature adoptable local pets in need of homes. Help us find these pets homes by sharing this information with family members and friends who may be interested in adopting a shelter pet.

Adopt Dumpling

Dumpling is a roly-poly cat currently up for adoption at the Edison Municipal Animal Shelter. He's a wonderful and relaxed cat who was abandoned by his owners. Preferably, Dumpling needs a home with a cat tree so he can get some exercise. He would also do well on a diet. Dumpling is declawed, up-to-date on his vaccinations, FIV/FeLV negative and neutered.

If you're interested in meeting Dumpling or adopting him, please email us at EAS@edisonnj.org or call us at 732-248-7278. You can see more adoptable cats from Friends of EMAS here or download a PDF copy of the application form here.

Adopt Carmine

Carmine (Photo courtesy of EASEL)

Carmine was found wandering at an apartment complex in Ewing and bought to the Ewing Animal Shelter. He's a Shih Tzu between 6 and 7 years old. While Carmine can be very friendly, he does deal with some trust issues. He's perfectly fine with people he knows, but he can nip at strangers who handle him too roughly. He also has resource guarding issues.

Carmine does enjoy affection and likes to give hugs. He wiggles around, jumps and pumps his paws! He'll also rollover for anyone that drops to their knees.

Our dog trainers and staff think the shelter environment has been a hard adjustment for Carmine, but he has improved with each passing day.

If you’re interested in learning more about Carmine or to schedule a visit, email dogs@easelnj.org or call 609-883-0540. Find more of EASEL’s adoptable dogs and puppies here or download a PDF copy of the application form here.
