What’s Your Reaction to the NJ Minimum Wage Vote? [POLL]
Last night the vote was passed for question #2 on the ballot that would increase the minimum wage $1 an hour to $8.25 pr hour.
A dollar bill.
The vote will also provide for an automatic increase to the cost-of-living expenses.
The new hourly minimum will go into effect Jan. 1 under the constitutional amendment that was approved. Cost-of-living adjustments will occur every September.
About 50,000 workers in New Jersey get minimum wage, or about 3 percent of the workforce. That number doesn’t include those who get paid less because they rely on commissions or tips.
What's your reaction to the vote? Take the poll and let us know what you think.
