If you love a good “Rudy” story, this one will require a hanky – just in case a tear comes to your eye.

The story is about LittleChute (sp?) High School Senior Noah Vanvooren, who’s been the football team’s water boy for years.

Not just a water boy – but a cheerleader on the sidelines for the team as well, cheering them on during each and every game.

Noah has Down Syndrome, and while he hasn’t been able to play with the team, they, along with everyone in the town, all decided to allow him to suit up in pads and a helmet one October chilly Friday night.

Not just to suit up, but as the clock ticked down to the final seconds of a blowout game, they decided to let Noah take the ball.

The Clintonville Truckers let him pass, and the lead blockers on his team opened a hole for him to score a touchdown – his first.

To say there wasn’t a dry eye in the house would be putting it mildly.

The video says it all.

Here’s to Noah and all his teammates – the Ray’s Ray of Hope for tonight!
