As the federal Environmental Protection Agency launches an effort this month to remove lead-contaminated soil around a dozen homes in Edison - that are built on top of a former factory site - community groups are calling for the agency to expand lead testing at sites around the Garden State.

More than $29 million in environmental clean-up costs have been recovered by the state as a result of legal efforts by the Division of Law.  Attorney General Jeff Chiesa made the announcement today.  The total amount recovered, $29,939,907, is the most environmental clean-up funding ever recovered in one fiscal year since the state began tracking it in 1992.

Officials from the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection went before the Assembly Budget Committee today, to discuss their proposed fiscal year 2013 spending plan.

The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection celebrated Arbor Day today by planting more than 100 trees along the streets of Haddon Township and in Crystal Lake Park in Camden County.

On Wednesday, April 18th, the Department of Environmental Protection will hold public hearings in Avalon and Long Branch on proposed amendments to the Public Access rule.  The Public Access rule will enhance public access to New Jersey’s beaches, bays and waterways.
