Of the initial $1.8 billion coming to New Jersey from the federal government to rebuild and recover from Sandy, $25 million will be used to let everyone know that the Jersey Shore is open for business this summer.

It will take a very long time for the Jersey shore to fully recover from Superstorm Sandy, but can it ever truly return to the place we used to love?

No one knows exactly what the New Jersey coastline will look like this summer, but a shore-area lawmaker has offered his optimistic outlook for this year's tourism season and what it means for the many to follow.
