Hoping to eliminate a sliver of red tape facing New Jersey's small businesses, lawmakers continue to advance a measure that would allow minor paperwork violations to go unpunished.
Already up and running in 31 states, New Jersey would join a compact that allows out-of-state nurses to work here without jumping through hoops, and vice versa, under a proposed state law.
Seventy-eight percent of businesses said they offer healthcare benefits to their employees. That's down from 85 percent in 2016, and down from 87 percent in 2014.
