Spadea - requiring the Pledge of Allegiance is 'phony patriotism'

The Assembly State and Local Government Committee gave its unanimous endorsement Thursday to a bill which would require all public meetings to begin with the Pledge of Allegiance. In my typical contrarian fashion, I have a problem with this.

I mean... seriously?

The Pledge of Allegiance may be required before all public meetings

There's NOTHING better they can do? We've got high taxes, no middle class, an absent Governor, and they want to pass a law that would require this empty gesture? Come on.
