COLLEGE PARK, Maryland — A student from Toms River who went missing in Maryland has been found.

"Kaitlyn George has been found and she is okay" and discovered at a fast food restaurant alone in Houston, Texas according to University of Maryland Police spokeswoman Roseanne Hoass.

The 21-year-year old Toms River North graduate, nicknamed Kaity, left her dorm room on Thursday afternoon with a backpack and took a cab to Baltimore instead of meeting her boyfriend at the school's student center, authorities have previously said. After being dropped off at a marina in the city's Federal Hill section, she was captured on video getting into a waiting SUV. A witness reported seeing George getting on a free city shuttle bus the next morning.

Hoass on Tuesday night released an image of George getting onto a Greyhound bus headed to Washington, D.C., Richmond and Hampton, Virginia. Hoass did not say where she got off but said police did not suspect any foul play.

The Rev. Scott Shaffer of St. Joseph's Church in Toms River, where George was a youth minister, was happy to hear the news.

"We're very grateful. We've been praying and we had a lot of concern from people here who knew her well and knew the family well. We're grateful she is safe," Shaffer said.
