The Monmouth County Prosecutors Office needs your help in solving the gruesome double slaying this past Friday of a 62-year old Long Branch woman and the 10-year old girl she was raising.

autopsies have determined that the deaths of a Long Branch woman and the 10-year-old girl she was raising were homicides.

Colbert and the 10-year-old were found dead Friday in a first-floor apartment in a home on Lippincott Avenue after police were called at 5:22 p.m., reporting suspicious circumstances there.
The Prosecutor's Office declined to release a cause or time of death, or to say if authorities are searching for suspects or have someone is custody.

Authorities are requesting help from the public in establishing a motive for the homicides.

A $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of those involved in their murder has been posted by Monmouth County Crimestoppers.
