This news item is just too tragic for me to bring up on air during the week leading up to Christmas, so I'm posting it here. In New York City, a man set fire to a woman on an elevator. Waited for her. Completely deliberate. And no, she didn't survive. This is truly the kind of sick thing you'd think would only come from someone's imagination on a critically acclaimed HBO series.

Not only did it happen in real life, when you read the step by step of how it went down, it makes your blood run cold. There has to be a special place in Hell for someone who could do this. Why is the same species capable of awe inspiring acts of love and kindness but also heinous acts of monstrous evil?
