Pork Roll or Taylor Ham? Classic New Jersey Debate Center of Charity Run
You're going to have to declare a side when you finish the race? Is this local culinary masterpiece called a pork roll or Taylor ham?
The debate is all in good fun, of course, but you'll get to experience this delicacy, along with a one-of-a-kind finisher metal, at the inaugural Pork Roll vs. Taylor Ham 5K / 10K & 2K Pup Strut. You pick the length of your race and your pace (no timing chips, no pressure) and help raise money for Good News Home Inc.
They are offering:
- 1.5K Pup Strut (Your dog gets a finisher treat, too!)
- 5.2K race
- 10K race
It all starts at 10 a.m. April 19 at Duke Island Park, 191 Old York Road, Bridgewater, NJ. Early bird pricing lasts through April 4, and packet pickup starts at 8:30 a.m. on race day.
Part of the event proceeds benefit Good News Home Inc., which organizers describe as "a faith‑based nonprofit organization offering short‑ and long‑term residential treatment for women recovering from substance abuse." They also operate The Butterfly House, a sober living duplex, and a program for women and children affected by domestic violence.
Good cause, great community vibe, and perfect refueling choice at the finish line. Visit MegaBite Events or RunSignup.com to register today and prepare to let your choice be known — pork roll or Taylor ham?
