Oprah Winfrey Calls New Cable Venture a Tough Climb

Oprah Winfrey says creating her new cable network is turning out to be the climb of her life.

She spoke to advertisers Thursday at a presentation for OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network, saying: "I'm climbing Kilimanjaro." She quickly explained that, for her, Kilimanjaro is the offices of OWN.

The network, which launched in January 2011, has struggled to find an audience. It has recently suffered staff layoffs and a management upheaval.

But Winfrey struck a hopeful note in her brief remarks. While she's nowhere near the summit of success for her channel, she declared that she now at least is able to see it.
