One Of My Favorite Letterman Interviews [VIDEO]

I was feeling nostalgic with David Letterman's retirement announcement yesterday, thinking back to so many great and absurd moments. The man under the stairs, throwing things off the roof, Larry Bud Melman, Will It Float, etc. I also think he was a great interviewer and commanded a razor sharp wit.

Never was that more prevalent than when actor Joaquin Phoenix showed up at the time he claimed he was giving up acting for a hip hop music career. Joaquin comes out looking like some Amish guy wearing Blues Brothers sunglasses and contributed absolutely nothing. He was non-communicative and a terrible guest. Poor Dave, it was like talking to a wall. Yet with Letterman's wit this turned out to be one of the most memorable, funniest interviews, especially Letterman's very last line.
