Former New Jersey Governor and current State Senator Dick Codey says he will hold a press conference tomorrow inside the waiting room at Newark Penn Station to announce several new initiatives and pieces of legislation that will address the problem of homelessness in New Jersey.

Codey plans to discuss ways to prevent discrimination against the mentally ill, more funding for support groups and ways to create affordable housing. Last month, Codey dressed as a homeless man to exploit shocking problems with the system in New Jersey. His experience has helped shape some of the initiatives he will be announcing tomorrow.

“Thousands of people in New Jersey go to bed every night cold, hungry and without a roof over their head, but it does not have to be this way,” says Codey. “We must do something now to end the problem of chronic homelessness that has gone on for far too long here in New Jersey.”
