NJ State Trooper Sean Cullen’s funeral set for Monday

The funeral for the  State Police trooper who died after being hit by a car Monday evening will be next week in Cinnaminson.

Sean Cullen's funeral will be Monday at the St. Charles Borromeo Church, 2500 Branch Pike, Cinnaminson. Parking will be limited.

The Mount Holly Police Department also plans a vigil 7:30 p.m. this Thursday at the Burlington County Public Safety Center at the Fallen Officers Memorial in Westampton.

Cullen was killed in the line of duty as he stood alongside Route 295 in West Deptford at the scene of a car fire when he was struck by a passing car. No charges have been filed in the case. Authorities said the woman immediately stopped and cooperated with State Police.

Prior to joining the State Police Cullen was a member of the Mount Holly and Westampton police departments. An Ireland native who moved to the United States when he was a boy, he graduated Cinnaminson High School in 2003.

"You couldn't be bummed out when you were around him. He always made you smile, always made you laugh. He was truly that type of person" Mount Holly police Cap. Richard Spitler told NJ.com.

A GoFundMe page was created to offer financial assistance to Cullen's fiancee and 9-month-old son.

"This fund, in Sean's memory, will provide care and assistance to the people who meant the most to him, his family," according to the page, which had raised more than $14,000 toward its $25,000 goal Wednesday afternoon.
