Ronda Rousey is a woman of her word — she'll attend the Marine Ball with New Jersey's Jarrod Haschert Friday night.

A TMZ video crew caught Rousey as she got into a van headed for the airport outisde her California home early Friday morning.

"I'm going to the Marine Ball" said a smiling but tired Rousey. "I promised I'd go and it's an honor to be asked."

She said that had Haschert from Somerdale not asked her she'd probably be staying "on my couch crying and eating ice cream for another month, so it's probably a good thing."

The ball is Friday night at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, Md.

Haschert, stationed at Campy Le Junne in North Carolina, never gave up hope that Rousey, his "celebrity crush" would show up.

"She is amazing champion and we can’t wait to have her at our special night. The ball is a night for us to celebrate all the Marine Corps’ traditions and accomplishments, he wrote in an email in November.

After she accepted his video invitation there was little contact between the two. She lost her UFC championship to Holly Holm in a brutal fight in Australia and stayed out of the spotlight until an ESPN magazine interview was released this week in which she said she suffered a split lip and "loosened teeth" from the fight.

As of Thursday, Haschert's family didn't know if Rousey would show up — but he planned to go anyway, and wait for his date to arrive.
