They say some of the best blues songs are written from pain and suffering. Well if that's true, then this song will be a hit in no time.

Bob Dylan may not appreciate this parody, but that's only because he's not from Jersey.  I recently put a band together, now known as the "Not Ready for Drive Time Players," and we put together a song to help ease the blues that every New Jerseyan feels.

The other members of the band that were gracious enough to help me perform this Jersey jam are as follows:

Vini "Mad Dog" Lopez on drums
Asbury Park rockers Job Brice and Paul Whistler
Gary Cavico (member Blues Hall Of Fame)
Paul Venier, The "Comedy Tornado," former member of "Salty Dog"

It's to the tune of Bob Dylan's legendary hit "Rainy Day Women #12 & 35."

Want to sing along? We're sure you already know this song ... in spirit. But here's the lyrics:

They'll tax you when you try to by some gas
In Jersey, that's a big pain in the ass

They'll tax you when you're going to the store
They say it's less, but you know it's gonna be more

Chorus
We're only giving you the facts
Everything in Jersey gets taxed!

They'll tax you when you're going to the beach
In other states, they say that is a reach

They'll tax you for money on the roads
In Jersey, we all know that is a load

Chorus
We're only giving you the facts
Everything in Jersey gets taxed!

We hope you enjoy our first single and keep an eye out for a follow-up song very soon!
