Dieting dessert lovers may want to check their freezers. Kraft Heinz Company has recalled 100,000 cases of Weight Watchers Smart Ones Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Sundae frozen desserts due to possible listeria contamination.

According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the cookie dough pieces in the sundaes, which are supplied by Aspen Hills Inc., tested positive for listeria monocytogenes. Kraft Heinz Company, the manufacturer of Weight Watchers Smart Ones desserts initiated the voluntary recall "as a precautionary measure."

The FDA says listeria is a bacterium that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, as well as frail or elderly people or those weakened immune systems. Healthy individuals may suffer symptoms such as headache, fever, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea. Listeria can also cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women, the FDA says. So far, no illnesses have been reported.

The recall includes four-packs of the cookie dough sundae frozen dessert. Click here for information on the UPC codes and "use by" dates on the recalled packages.

No other Weight Watchers Smart Ones products were affected by the recall, the company says.
