But authorities say the 28-year-old woman, whose name was not released, is expected to fully recover from her injuries.

Westwood Police Chief Frank Regino tells The Record that the officer, whose name was not disclosed, was patrolling downtown and was going through a green light when the jogger ran across the street about 5:45 a.m. Wednesday.

The woman suffered several broken bones in the accident, while the officer also was "shaken up." Both were treated at a hospital, but further details on their conditions were not disclosed.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
