Lodi Man Formally Charged With Shooting Grandmother
A northern New Jersey man has appeared in court to face charges he shot his 85-year-old grandmother multiple times in their home over the weekend.
Joseph Bariso entered state Superior Court in Hackensack Tuesday in shackles and a prison jumpsuit. The judge entered a not guilty plea on his behalf. The 28-year-old Bariso was not yet represented by an attorney.
He’s being held on $2 million bail.
Bariso faces several charges including attempted murder. Bergen County prosecutors say he shot Olga Bariso as she slept on a couch in their home in Lodi. It’s not clear what sparked the shooting. Joseph Bariso was picked up several hours later in Rutherford, but the weapon has not been recovered.
