The news came out today. New Jersey’s unemployment rate now stands at 9.8%. It’s a record level which hasn’t been seen since 1977. The state lost 12,000 more jobs in July. All according to figures released today by NJ’s Labor Department.

Seems every other month these bad numbers came out Gov. Christie says this is proof the New Jersey Comeback is underway…because more people are now so optimistic about our state’s economy that they’re back out actively looking for work therefore being counted.

 

Do you buy it? The national unemployment rate at the end of July stood at 8.3% by the way. Meaning New Jersey now trails it by 1.5 percentage points which is a 30 year record.
